A LONG HISTORY IN LUMINARIE
THE PAULICELLI HISTORY IN THE FIELD OF LUMINARIE GOES BACK TO THE FIRST YEARS OF THE 20th CENTURY.
Luminarie. The lights that envelop people during square festivals, marking the path of the saint during the procession, accompaning the knot and giving a good mood. From the Latin word “lumen” (object which gives out light), luminarie mix sacred and profane, Christianity and Paganism. All together, under the same light. That one belonging to the local Patron to which the whole town is devoted.
And here, in the early 20th century, the story of Paulicelli starts. The intuition and the talent of Francesco, the young “paratore” (who decorates churches and public buildings), lead the first luminarie installations in honor of St. Nicholas in the city of Bari. Then, other innovative installations of luminarie for the Fiera del Levante and for hundreds of patron festivals throughout the region follow.
LEGACY OF TRADITION
GIUSEPPE PAULICELLI CONTINUES ON THE PATH OF HIS FATHER IN THE FIELD OF LUMINARIE
Art is preserved. Art is inherited. Art is passed down. Francesco passed his knowledge and his love for this work to his son Giuseppe, who continues the path of his father with the equal passion and talent, developing new production techniques and new forms and harmonies of light. Giuseppe also inherits the entrepreneurial spirit and the desire to share the successes of his company with all employees, who see in him not a master but the “father master”, the one who teaches, educates and supports.
THE ART OF LUMINARIE CONTINUES
FROM GENERATION TO GENERATION, THE LUMINARIE ARE TIMELESS
Today it’s up to Giuseppe’s son, Domenico Paulicelli, carrying on the work of his beloved ancestors. And he does so in its own way, mixing tradition and innovation with great wisdom, investing in research and developing a new business unit in the Light Design segment. Domenico has inherited not only talent and passion. He strongly desidered to follow the dream of his father: bringing Paulicelli luminarie around the world. It succeeded, they succeeded! Today, thanks to the work of Domenico, his wife Francesca and all employees, joint together under the magic of the lights, Paulicelli is alive in the prestigious locations all around the world. Alive like light, alive like the memory of Francesco and Giuseppe.
